How to Track Time on Tasks in Edworking

Use a task's timer while you work, or add a manual entry for work you have already completed. Native time tracking is included in the current Basic and Business plans.

Start and stop a timer

  1. Open the task you are working on.
  2. Select Track Time in the task details to open Timer.
  3. Choose Start Timer.
  4. Work on the task, then use Pause for a break or Stop when the session is finished.
  5. Review the recorded duration and the task's time total.

If you close the task while its timer is running, use the active timer banner to pause, stop or reopen the task. Closing the task panel does not itself stop the timer.

Add time manually

  1. Open the task and select Track Time.
  2. Choose Add Manual Entry.
  3. Enter the requested date, duration and any available description.
  4. Save the entry and check that it appears against the correct task.

Use manual entries for a missed session. Check existing entries first so that the same work is not counted twice.

Review estimates and actual work

A task's estimate describes planned effort; tracked time records the sessions entered for it. Review both when planning future work. A running timer is not evidence that someone was continuously working throughout that period.

Troubleshooting

If the controls are missing, check your plan and access to the task. If a total looks wrong, check whether a timer is still running and review manual entries. Confirm the saved total before leaving the task, particularly after a connection interruption.
