Edworking Voice‑to‑Text Guide

Voice-to-text turns spoken notes into editable text. It is useful for drafting a chat message or capturing ideas in a document. The current Business plan includes Voice-to-Text Input.

Before recording

Sign in, connect a working microphone and allow microphone access in your browser and operating-system settings. Choose a quiet place and check that the intended input device is selected.

Dictate a chat message

  1. Open the conversation where you want to write.
  2. Select the microphone or voice-to-text control in the composer.
  3. Wait until the recorder is ready, then speak clearly.
  4. Finish using the recorder's available stop or finish control and wait for the transcription.
  5. Review names, numbers, punctuation and the selected conversation. Edit the text before choosing Send.

Starting dictation should not be treated as sending the message. Always check the resulting draft.

Dictate into a document

Open the Doc and focus the block where the text belongs. Open the block's six-dot menu and choose Voice to Text where offered. Record your note, finish with the recorder controls and review the inserted text.

The editor can also be used for ordinary formatting afterwards. Break longer notes into short sections so mistakes are easier to spot.

Troubleshooting

  • Recorder stays loading: check microphone permission, the selected device and your connection.
  • No audio: test the microphone in your device settings and check whether another application is using it.
  • Incorrect words: speak in shorter phrases and edit the transcript before sharing.
  • Control unavailable: check the current plan and whether the editor or composer supports dictation.

Transcription accuracy varies. Do not rely on spoken punctuation commands unless you have confirmed their behaviour in your session.
