Task Management in Edworking: A Complete Guide for Teams

Use Tasks to plan deliverables, assign responsibility and keep the discussion attached to the work.

Create and describe a task

  1. Open Tasks and select the destination space and, if needed, a list.
  2. Choose New Task, enter a clear title and complete the creation form. For a quick note, use Quick Task on the board and add details afterwards.
  3. Open the task to set its state, assignees, due date, priority and tags.
  4. Write the instructions and completion criteria in the description. Add files or resource links that the assignee needs.
  5. Use the task chat for decisions, questions and progress updates.

Understand lists, states and subtasks

  • Lists group related work, such as a sprint, milestone or workstream.
  • States show progress. On a board grouped by state, columns might represent Backlog, In progress, Reviewing and Completed.
  • Subtasks break a task into separately tracked pieces of work. Open the task's Subtasks area to add them where your plan supports them.
  • Checklists are checks inside the description; they do not create separate tasks or assignments.

Choose Create List to add a grouping. Use the relevant list or state menu to organise it. Read the confirmation before deleting an organisational element; sections containing tasks must be emptied before they can be deleted.

Update progress and find work

Drag a task between state columns, or open it and change its state. Use Mark as complete or its completion control when the work is finished. Completion feedback can include an animation and sound when browser audio is available.

Switch between Board and List views. In Display, adjust filters, grouping, sorting and whether completed tasks appear. If a task seems missing, clear filters and check the selected space and list.

Keep resources useful

Use a resource link's Remove action to unlink an obsolete reference. This removes the association from the task; it does not delete the external page or repository item.

For clients or stakeholders, paid plans can share a board or selected lists publicly. Check the selected content before enabling public access.
