Edworking Meeting Rooms: Step‑by‑Step Guide

Use Meets for planned meetings and the call controls in a chat for quick discussions about ongoing work.

Start or schedule a meeting

  1. Open Meets to review upcoming and previous meetings.
  2. Choose Start a Meeting for an immediate call, or Schedule Meeting to arrange one for later.
  3. Review the meeting details and participants. Copy the meeting link when you need to invite someone.
  4. On the pre-join screen, select and test your microphone and camera, then choose Join Meeting.

A guest's access depends on the meeting's settings. Check the link and admission behaviour before an external meeting.

Use the call controls

  • Microphone and camera: mute or disable them when needed. Use device settings to select another input or output device.
  • Screen sharing: choose a tab, window or screen in the browser's sharing prompt. Review the content before sharing and stop when finished.
  • Chat: keep useful links, questions and notes with the meeting.
  • Settings: adjust the available device, video and background options. Options can vary by browser, device and plan.
  • Leave call: use the leave control when you finish; closing a chat panel is not a reliable way to end your participation.

Call from a conversation

Open a private, task or space chat and select its video-call control. Use the compact call view to keep working, or expand the call for more room. Keep decisions and follow-up work in the relevant task or document.

Fix common connection problems

If a device is unavailable, check browser and operating-system permissions, then confirm the selected microphone or camera. Close other applications using the device. Headphones can reduce echo. If the connection is unstable, stop unnecessary screen sharing or video and check your network.

Video quality and other allowances depend on the current plan. See plans and billing and calendar setup.
