How to Track Time on Tasks in Edworking

This guide demonstrates how to track time for tasks in Edworking, either manually or using the built‑in timer.

Screenshots accompany each step to help you follow along.

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to your Edworking workspace.
  • The task you want to track time on should already exist in a space.

Steps to track time on a task

1. Open the task details

  1. Click the task card to open its detail view. A modal window appears with information about state, due date, estimates and other fields.
  2. Find the Track Time row in the task header. It displays the total time tracked for the task (e.g., 1h 1m 27s). Click this field to open the time‑tracking options.![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/d/f/b/4/dfb443682a2f5800/image_115e1mx.png)

2. Choose how to add time

When you click Track Time, a pop‑up labeled Timer appears with two optionsuk.edworking.com:

  • Start Timer – begins a live stopwatch for the task.
  • Add Manual Entry – opens a form where you can specify a date and duration for time worked previously.

3. Start the timer (optional)

  1. Click Start Timer. The pop‑up converts to a live timer showing seconds elapsed and offers Pause and Stop buttons. The task’s total tracked time updates in real‑time.
  2. Continue working on the task while the timer runs. You can close the task modal without stopping the timer.

4. Close the task and manage the timer from the board

  1. Close the task detail window by clicking the X in the top‑right corner. A small time‑tracking banner appears at the bottom of the screen (beneath the tasks list) showing the task name and the active timer.![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/d/f/b/4/dfb443682a2f5800/image_1bqakk4.png)
  2. Use the Pause or Stop buttons in this banner to control the timer without reopening the task. If you click the task name in the banner, Edworking will reopen the task details so you can review or adjust entries.

Notes

  • Manual entries: Selecting Add Manual Entry lets you record time for past work sessions. You can specify the duration and date, and these entries appear in the time‑entry list.
  • Continuous tracking: The timer keeps running even if you navigate away from the task board. You can access it from the banner until you pause or stop it.

By following these steps you can accurately log time spent on your Edworking tasks, either by manually entering hours or by using the integrated timer.
