Optimizing Team Communication with Edworking Chat

Use the conversation that matches the work: task chats for deliverables, space chats for project updates and private conversations for selected teammates.

Open or start a conversation

Open Chats for the full view, or select a recent conversation in the sidebar. Use the new-chat control to select recipients. For existing work, open the task or space and its chat.

Quick-chat shortcuts open the conversation in a right-hand panel beside your current work. Select the same shortcut again to close it.

Write a message with useful context

  1. Check the participants and write your message.
  2. Use @ to select the teammate you want to mention.
  3. Use # to choose a task, document or file reference. Select the actual item so readers can open it.
  4. Add files using the attachment control or a supported drag-and-drop upload.
  5. Review the content and send it. Use replies for follow-up and reactions for brief acknowledgements.

Linking an item does not grant access to its space. If someone cannot open a reference, check their membership and permissions.

Correct messages and find files

Open the message action menu and choose Edit where available. Review the editing indicator before saving; Escape cancels an edit. Use the conversation's shared media or file view to locate attachments.

If older messages are missing, check your plan's chat-history limit. Search availability also depends on the plan.

Move from discussion to action

Record decisions and next steps in the relevant task. Give each action an owner and deadline instead of leaving it only in chat. Use the video-call control when a discussion needs a live conversation.

You can ask Ask AI to summarise a discussion or identify open questions using the available context. Check the result against the original messages before sharing it or changing work.
